We celebrated Halloween early this year at the Montessori Fall Carnival. Thane is obsessed with Tigger this year and it is one of the few full length movies he can watch without getting scared by some creepy bad guy. Believe me, the number of children’s movies that will scare a 2 year old to death is limitless. It is increasingly difficult to find one that fits the bill. We have gone from watching Hell Boy with our infant to forwarding through the shark scene in Nemo.

So Tigger he was…or TIGER as he says it. And it was an action costume…Tiggers bounce, ya know!

Mara was his ever near Piglet. She was a cutie in it too. The costume was warm too, we think it may become her winter wear! :)

When we arrived, Jay parked the car and we went in first. Thane arrived in his very familiar school to a very unfamiliar scene…many many people in bizarre costumes. He was not a happy camper and clung to me for quite some time.

Here he is with his friend Cooper. You can tell how into it they are.

Thane finally did get involved when Jay took him to the balloon maker. There was page view of possibilities. Jay wanted the alien. Thane picked the puppy. Jay suggested the alien was cool. Thane picked the puppy. We finally convinced the magician that Mara asked for the alien.

Then we went to get a cute photo by the haystacks. Yep, that worked well.

Last week our IT department had a kickball tournament.

Yes, I said our office decided it was a good idea for a bunch of old, out of shape, IT geeks who probably were never good at “sport” in the first place to play kickball together.

I could not leave with Jay (who was playing) because I had meetings. I intended to pick up the kids and have them see him play. Instead, I got a phone call around 3 saying his team was winning, but he was on the Injury Reserve list…

A week later, a set of crutches, and many Advil later he is still hobbling around but much improved. Here is a pic of my little kickball player in action. This is not, however, an action shot of the injury, that apparently happened when he ran onto his foot with his cleats.
