Greek Festival 2009
Saturday, September 19th, 2009This year’s Greek Festival in Nashville I will consider one of the best yet. Weather was beautiful and perfect for enjoying the food and music and festivities. Crowd was the best I have seen to date. Food was delicious as usual. I had Pastichio, Jay had Gyro and Thane had Souvlaki, which he loved eating off the stick.
This was the first year Thane was really able to enjoy the kids’ area. Gates and Maggie met us there, too. Thane went over to the pony rides and pick out Gambler. I started out walking with him but he was doing so great, I asked if he wanted to go on his own and he said yes. So off he went while mommy waited by the side and watched. He did so well. We also did the petting zoo and the bouncers. As usual, he took his time watching at first and then got in on the action. Daddy even played a little, with a climb up the rock wall.
Thane and Gates got in on the dancing, and to look at it, Thane looks like quite the little Greek boy! I had fun “teaching” him some dances, which at this point was just dancing in circles to Zorba music.
