So the disclaimer is that the below pictures are horrible, for 2 reasons. Reason #1 they were taken with my Blackberry and the quality is bad, bad, bad. Reason #2, Mara either is asleep or does not look very happy in either pose. I assure you she was quite happy with both and I like to think she was asleep because the new car seat was just so comfy.

OK. To the story at hand.

I have been itching to move Mara out of the infant carrier and into her “big girl” car seats for awhile. We bought them months ago when we got a super sale. They have been sitting in our garage and have even moved houses since. I am done with the infant carrier. Maybe it is because I have used it for 2 kids now. Maybe because Mara weighs a million pounds in it. Maybe because the new car seat is pink. Who knows.

The big Litmus Test was her being able to sit up so that we would have a solution when shopping (grocery cart) or at a restaurant (high chair). She has been gaining this strength but is not yet an expert. But, as I said, gaining.

Yesterday was the straw. I have been asking Jay, when can we move her, when can we move her. I think he was getting tired of the question. When I went to grab Mara out of the infant carrier yesterday morning to take her to school I felt something sticky. I looked down and she had poop running down her legs. It was everywhere. Her. Me. Infant Carrier. Hallelujah!

After carrying her in like a bag of rotten potatoes, we cleaned up everything and went about our day. That evening at Costco we tried the Mara in a grocery cart idea. She did great (again, not evidenced by the below pics). She loved her view of the world and Thane seemed to like the company. We were there for about 40 minutes and she only slightly cried once.

So this morning…TADA! Car seats installed!!!

By the way, have I mentioned how much I LOVE Britax? This is the new Boulevard Click & Safe that clicks when baby is in tight enough. LOVE IT!!!
