Today is my last day at work before I begin an 11 week maternity leave. Holy cow.

Wednesday, Jay looked at me and exclaimed…”How am I going to put up with you idle for 11 weeks???”. He then told one of his coworkers this morning that when I could not project manage the office, all my PM energy would be focused on him.

Last night was Daddy’s night at water aerobics. Thane had his old teacher watch him while Jay and I headed to the pool. It was so much fun!!! And let me brag about hubby for a minute…he was 1 of 3 guys there and he totally got into it, he also made me work really hard…friendly competition never hurt anyone! Jay and I both got good workouts and after class, Jay said that it was more of a workout than he expected. We just found out that he missed the Steelers game for this. I am mortified. I don’t think he has missed a game in a decade. I owe him big.

Things are going well. Tomorrow I hit 37 weeks-officially full term. I am trying to absorb as much Thane 1 on 1 time as possible. Last week I had a panic attack when I realized Thane had a limited time left of being an only child. Jay, a third child, was baffled. It made perfect sense to me. Queen of only children.

Apparently, November equals birthday month.

Steve celebrated on November 13th. I have proof. His card is still sitting on my dining room table. But, we called and Jay taught Thane to say a very clear “Nouno” to him.

Yesterday was a double birthday day with both Gail and Adam.

LM is at the end of the month.

So, in honor of the festivities, we went to a 2nd birthday party for Felipe, the son of our wonderful Spanish neighbors who just returned from a year in Madrid. It was a gymnastics party and so much fun. It was perfect for Thane’s age group and we got to participate with him (even pregnant mommy). He was a little timid at first but eventually warmed up to it.

We also surprised Adam for his 40th birthday. We did not stay too terribly long, just long enough to send good wishes to the birthday boy, Thane hang out with his cousins, and spend some time watching Vandy beat UK. We are going bowling!!!

In baby news, I am officially more pregnant than I was last time. Good for her, yucky for me. Looks like we are still on target for the 4th of December. She sounds great and, other than being breach, is doing well. I have gained a grand total of 20 lbs. It feels like 120. Dr. Wise looked at my swollen legs and said that I appear to have 10 lbs of water weight there alone. She was happy with the amount of weight I had gained and said that the baby seemed a “good size”…her prediction around 8 lbs.

Friday is my last day at work. I am having a bit of difficulty letting go of the reigns. The idea of not working for 11 weeks is terrifying.

I had my “34 week” appointment on Monday and it was rather uneventful. Except for that it appears that the side splitting pain I had with her last week was her moving and she may (or may not) be breech. But, since we are having the c-section, doc does not care at all. Things are progressing very well. I am measuring right on target, her heartbeat sounds strong, all is well so far.

We are officially scheduled for December 4, 2008.

4 weeks, 1 day. But who’s counting?
