Last Day of School
Sunday, August 10th, 2008Friday was Thane’s “last day of school.” This week, we are on a week’s break and then next week, he starts the Toddler 1 program. It is very exciting. As sad as I am to see him leave Erica and Kim, I think he is ready to move up. Every day when I dropped him off this week he was heading to the Toddler classroom and everyday he fussed when I brought him to the infant room. I think he is in a, been there, done that mode with the infant room.
The Toddler room is designed for 14 months – 2 years and has lots of new, fun things to explore. Jessica, Erica’s sister is his teacher. Last week, they did a couple of transition times and brought the kids moving up (there are 4 of them!) into the room. Thane and his buddy Cooper did great! It is reassuring to have him move up with his friends too, at least amidst all the change, there will be some constant faces.
Yesterday was the Fall Carnival at school. We made Spanakopita (Spinach Pie) which appeared to be a hit. Thane loved the petting zoo. Yes, that is a snake around his neck. When we got home, he was a fussy little gus. Our next door neighbors suggested it was because he could not say, “Hey, wow, that was really fun. I want to go back! Now!”
