Friday was Greek Good Friday and we hopped a plane to Florida for a relaxing Easter weekend. We got a chance to dip Thane in the ocean for the first time, visit family, take a boat ride and celebrate Easter in a beautiful church.
We arrived Friday and relaxed all day. It was wonderful. Saturday we went to a Seafood Festival where I had Stone Crab Claws with mustard sauce and Jay had a mahi mahi platter with a delicious calamari salad. From there we went to the ocean. It was quite the hike but when we got there, we eased Thane into experiencing the water. First, Jay held him and waded out a bit into the water. Thane was mesmerized and would not take his eyes off the sea water.
After some time being in daddy’s arms, we eased Thane down so that his feet touched the saltwater. YIKES! The rush of the water and the different feelings did not go over well. Jay quickly picked him back into arms, where Thane clung for dear life, but we did find a smile or two.
Then it was time to hit the sand. We kept close watch on him to make sure no sand went in his mouth, but he was so intrigued he decided not to make a sand-wich.
Later that day we headed to the pool to cool off. Thane loves the pool and we thought we would get a precursor to his swimming classes he will be taking in May.
After a nap and a delicious sushi dinner, we headed to a beautiful Greek Easter ceremony at midnight. The church was beautiful and the service even more so. Thane did well for the first part then got hungry and sleepy so we headed home after the candle ceremony. All in all, he did wonderfully
for his first Easter and I am so proud of him!
