Thane is on the move…and the move is backwards. Yesterday at school he “scooted” backwards. He moved from halfway in the room to the wall while scooting backwards. Erica said he is trying to move all the time. Most of the time, it is just in circles but he got some actual distance this time in one direction.
This weekend was a beautiful spring weekend…in January. We went on an hour walk on both Saturday and Sunday and our little prodigy introduced us to his problem solving skills. It was a pretty bright day. Thane had a sour puss on his face for the majority of the walk on Saturday. We were quite upset because it was the first walk we had taken since he was more aware of his surroundings. Apparently, he was upset because it was so bright. Jay noticed that he had pulled his shoulder strap to shield his eyes. When we got to the shade, he brought it down. He did this over and over again. It was awesome, there is someone using his head!
In other development, Thane is waving. He waved bye to Leah last night in after care and to Jay last week. Also, Jay held Thane’s shoulders last night and was able to get him to ‘walk’ while kind of pushing him forward. He moves one leg then the other forward. We have video, which I will try to post later.
Thane has also started drinking water out of a sippy cup. Dr. Frank said he did not need to drink water but we don’t want to give him juice yet (which Dr. Frank also says not to give yet) so we thought water was a good thing to start with. These pics are from last night, we are slowly introducing Thane to these little “shot” glasses from Montessori. Real glass cups. Obviously not as clean but lots of fun!
And all that work makes a little boy tired. He was in his jumper and Jay and I were in the kitchen when we noticed things had gotten very quiet. He had fallen asleep in the jumper!
