Saturday morning was the Montessori Halloween Carnival, complete with magician, costumes, and foot ghosts. The kids’ costumes ranged from a very cool astronaut (and a girl, I might add!) to Jasmine to you name it. There was plenty to eat (each class was assigned one of an appetizer/main course/dessert) and lots to do. It really felt like fall in Vermont, the place was so festively decorated, not a somewhat warm southern day in what happened to be late-October.
When we arrived, we went to put Thane in his costume for the first time. We are apparently still not judging his size accurately. The red hot chili pepper we got barely fit over his little body. His legs weresqueezed into the bottom half, one over the other, and the buttons on his waist were screaming they were pulled so hard. But, we got him in it and he did not seem to mind one bit. As a matter of fact, our little ham of a son seemed to realize that this getup was going to bring him even more attention than usual.
We saw Erica and Deb right away. Erica’s son David (Thane’s buddy) was dressed as evil Spider Man and looked great.
Thane did really well in the costume for quite some time and then decided that he was DONE. He wanted out of the costume and was saying FEED ME! We ended up leaving early, missing the parade, but we saw most everything and got to show off our cute little chili pepper.
