He IS my son after all!

Saturday, September 22nd, 2007

Another week has gone by and I have not been giving much updates on Thane so here is a brief update…

Thane is growing like a weed…our doctor’s appointment is a week from Monday, so we shall see how he is measuring up then (ba da buh!) He is now fitting in 3-6 and 6-9 month clothes with a few exceptions here and there.

He has also become Chatty Cathy and “talks” constantly! It is so cute to have a conversation with him babbling…finally something he inherited from me! Our best talks are on the way home from school, he loves to tell me all about his day.

Also in Thane development, Thane discovered his hands in the last few days. Yesterday he started “releasing” things (somethign Erica at school has been anxiously awaiting) and today Jay saw him look at his hand and then move it (while watching it). He is also VERY close to rolling over, just needs to figure out what to do with that arm…it is always in the way!

Finally, in regards to sleep! We are getting 3-4 nights a week of solid sleep. That was not bad at all! By “a night of sleep” I mean from about 10 pm – 5:30 am.

Football season started and so did our quest for a new locale for Sundays…the Box Seat was becoming a “Smoking” Bar (and no I don’t mean SMOKIN’!) so we have moved to Brentwood to Cross Corners, which promises better food, better service, and oh, it is not a cave. We did stop by the Box for the first game of the season and the youngest Steelers fan was quite a hit as you can see from the pics. Lynn gave him some adorable Sttelers outfits perfect for now and a few months from now…even a #7 Jersey! She got them in Pittsburgh, where the selection is much better than what we can even get online.

Bailey

Thursday, September 20th, 2007

When we got home last night, we found Bailey licking his tush, which looked a little inflamed. I took him to the vet this morning and turns out he had an anal gland that had burst, so they fixed that up by putting him under and getting rid of the waste. In the process, they found a mass, which probably caused the problem in the first place. They biopsied it and are sending it away to see if it is benign or malignant and we can figure out how to go from there.

Poor little guy…

Keep Boo in your thoughts!

Active Weekend

Monday, September 17th, 2007

This was a pretty active weekend, although it was spent primarily running errands and the like.

Saturday we took my car in for a much needed tune up and spark plug replacement. We then headed to Babie ‘R Us to get some fall clothes for Thane, so we can layer him to accommodate this crazy weather that ranges from 80 to 54 in one day. We took a detour to our new favorite grocery store, Fresh Market, which reminds me of NY specialty shops and has quickly replaced Wild Oats as our grocer of choice (Wild Oats was bought by Whole Foods and I am not a happy camper). Our next detour took us a few doors down to REI, where I, after 3 years of searching (no, I am not kidding), found a bike I LOVE! I was outfitted with a Cannondale Women’s F6 and a Chariot trailer for Thane to come with me. While we were looking at the trailer, a mom from Montessori came up and said she remembered me from the PTA meeting and she loved the trailer. We bought it with the infant sling and Jay headed home and I headed to see a movie with Becky and dinner at Calypso (yumm!)

When I got home that night, I read that the infant sling was NOT to be used for cycling (it converts to a jogger as well) so we went back to REI on Sunday and got this conversion kit that makes the trailer very much like a car seat. That worked great and saved us $20.

On Sunday, we also ventured to our new Steelers home, Cross Corners, where we will be watching all games from now on since The Box Seat will not be smoke free come Oct. 1 (for those outside of TN, Nashville is becoming smoke free, but if a place chooses not to, then no one under 21 can enter. We are thrilled though, The Box Seat was pretty raunchy. Jay had to leave pretty shortly after the game started for a CIRT so I stayed and mingled and watched the Steelers hunt down some Buffalo meat.

I will post some new pics of the new cycling duo when I get some. Here are just some pics from the weekend

OH…AND IT IS LATE AND I AM TIRED AND I AM NOT DEALING WITH THE FACT THAT THE PICS ARE ON THEIR SIDE… :(
