Everyday, it’s a-getting closer…
Today might be the day.
I spoke with Melissa at Dr. Wise’s office yesterday morning. Per her instructions, I was to take my “last” pill at midnight this morning, not eat or drink anything other than water after 12 am, and see her in her office for my weekly at 8:30 am. If I go into labor, she will deliver me before midnight tonight.
Jay and I don’t know how we feel about this….
Cons for having baby today
*Only 36w1d gestation…is that enough baking? Every pediatrician & doctor says “yes” but if he goes in NICU….
*My birthday is tomorrow (5/31)…how much would that suck to share your mom’s birthday every year
*John’s wedding is this weekend…OK, probably not a great idea to even think about postponing the birth of your child for your ex-boyfriend’s wedding, no matter how good of a friend he is to you and your hubby
*Terry & Joann are coming in to town for said wedding and staying at our house (this goes against the no family stay at our house during baby’s birth/hospital stay rule Jay and I have imposed)
*Does not jive well with date change for LM and Gail’s visit in July (I will be working from home by then)
*I have lunch plans with Rachel & Jennifer on Thursday….mmm, love Chick-fil-A
*The house has not been completely scoured yet…I have so much more nesting to do
*Are we ready???
Pros for having baby today
*Staying on the meds longer than I “need” to is probably not the best idea
*Had preterm labor never been a concern and I went to the doctor with these contractions now, they would just deliver me and meds would not be an option
*I am starting to feel the contractions in between pills…a sign the meds are not working as well anymore
*If I go into labor today, I get Dr. Wise to do the surgery…if I wait and it happens on its own this weekend…who knows?
*I am the most impatient person on the face of the earth…I cannot believe I made it this far!
*My birthday is tomorrow, what a special birthday present for me and connection for us…Plus Jay will have 2 b-days in a row
*I am very uncomfortable..the swelling in my feet is about to kill me
*We are ready! (or so we think!)
If you don’t hear from me right away, you know what that means….
If I post again today, no baby yet…

How much do I love the fact that our lunch tomorrow made the cons list! I feel very special! haha I would just let nature take it’s course. Carter was born right at 37 weeks (which I realize there is a big difference in just those few days) and he never had any complications. He was just ready. Just try to relax and maybe I’ll see you tomorrow…if not, I know where you’ll be.
