I called my GiaGia (grandmother) and Pappou (grandfather) just now and got their voicemail. Now, my grandparents are not your typical grandparents, she is a fashionista and he is a fun guy. Technology-wise however, even though he is a former engineer, they are lacking. Voicemail has always been one of their, shall we say, challenges.

I was in for a suprise today. This was the chipper voice of Gia that I heard:

Hi! You’ve reached Kay and Steve! We can’t make it to the phone right now but we’d LOVE to talk to you SOO leave a message. CIAO!

CIAO?!?!? Did she say ciao? OH MY GOD!!!

My last appointment with Dr. Norman was Wednesday. I realized what it is about her that I don’t like, I always feel rushed. I walk in at 1:06 for my 1:10 appointment, quite pleased with myself that I had arrived early. Turns out I was over 30 minutes early…my appointment was not until 1:45. I told the nurse it was ok I was early, since I felt like I was having a few contractions. You should have seen how many prego women and their husbands turned to look at me!

Ten minutes later they hooked me up to the fetal monitors and I had 3 contracts in 15 minutes. The u/s results were not too good either. My cervix, which was at 28, plummeted to 15. My fluid had raised to 19. I called Jay in between the ultrasound and waiting for the doctor and told him I would probably be hospitalized again.

Dr. Norman had different ideas though. I was stable at only 1 cm dilated and she had anticipated the changes as I had stopped taking the meds. She directed me to go back on complete bedrest and take my Procardia pills on a regular basis. I was free to go home

Dr. Wise is back from maternity leave next week and I get to see her at my next appointment on Wednesday. Halleluliah!
