Getting Ready for Baby
Tuesday, March 13th, 2007So we have been busy getting ready for Thane to arrive. Jay and I bought a crib and dresser this weekend. We will use the top of the dresser as a changing table. Jay bought the most hideous chair (called the Huxtable) as a rocker for the baby’s room. It is HUGE. Apparently, this is the “only” thing his 6’4″ frame can fit into but he even admitted that it is too big for the room, so we might start looking for gliders. We registered at Babies R Us, which was super fun (even Jay said so, and he absolutely did not think wedding registries were fun!). BRU even let us try out car seats in our car, which completely changed our perspective on which one we liked better.
As for me, I am starting to get uncomfortable. My stomach “hurts” that is about the only way I can describe it. Sleeping is uncomfortable, not helping in the full size bed that we have. And Thane is moving constantly (I think I even saw my belly jump today!)
Doctor visits are going well but they have seen “too much fluid” in my last two visits so Thane is going to be a very well pictured baby before this is all done. Apparently, I have an elevated amount of fluid (and for the girls that were out the Junior League presentation at Vandy—you know why I am FREAKING out!!!). Dr. Wise is not concerned though. She knows my worries and says that they have seen all of his organs and everything is normal. I may just be very hydrated. My visits are at every 3 weeks now (I am 25 weeks pregnant today!), and it looks like I will have an ultrasound every appointment from here on out. The good news is my gestational diabetes test came back very normal. All in all, no big complaints!
Here is the first photo. Just so everyone is clear, I am the one in the front, our house is in the back!
