Our furniture arrived! Jay and I went to pick it up Friday night. When we got home with it, we were greeted by SEVEN boxes on our doorstep from Babies ‘R Us! SEVEN! Mom sent us our entire bedding set from our Babies ‘R Us registry!!!! Today, we not only got to set up the entire nursery with furniture…but also add the accessories. They really complete the room. Actually, we are far from complete, wall hangings are next, but we are off to running start. Maybe now I won’t feel so behind the 8-ball!
Terry & Joann came in for a visit too, so it was really special to have them here to help us setup. Plus, it was even better to have Terry’s help carrying things with Jay and Joann’s help decorating. Joann and I did something really smart, too, we went out while the boys put the crib together! Very good idea to come home to an assembled crib and miss the cursing and fussing that went on in the process!
A lot of the things I bought in Memphis don’t go with the Zanzibar set, but I don’t think I will have a problem selling them on ebay or something. The pterodactyls are a must have though, and the green matches pretty well. The “THANOS” on the dresser will go over the crib and I am hoping to add a bookcase of some sort soon. The atrocious chair even seems to work in the room, although it covers the bay window a bit.
We are really happy with both the furniture and bedding set we picked. We looked high and low for strudy furniture that was attractive and not too baby. This was perfect. I will use the dresser as a changing table and the drawers are as well built (dove tail finishing) and heavy as I remember them. The bedding got excellent reviews and looks great, so we will see how it holds up after the first washing.
Joann said the room was very calming. Jay and I joked it was the first complete room in the house! I cannot believe we are officially using all 4 bedrooms right now! When we lived in Wyndchase, we barely took up two!!!
So…all you moms out there…bumper or no bumper on the crib????
