For Jay’s second birthday, he turns 3 this year, (for those who don’t know-his second birthday is the anniversary of when he quit smoking), I bought him a Predators jersey when we were at the game Thursday night. He wore it Friday night at open skate and little one came up to him and asked if he was a Predator. He said “No” with a smile but the kid kep at it…”Well you look like one!”

How is that for skating prowess and a great big massage of Jay’s ego?

Dr. Wise’s office called with the results of the screening I had last week. OK. So her office did not call, I called them, but I called when they had just gotten the results, so it was not like I was pestering. Well, not too much anyway. We had the Cystic Fibrosis and the Triple Screen Test. The triple screen tests for Down Syndrome, Spina Bifida and other common abnormalities. The CF test is still out until next week but, Melissa, the nurse, said that not only were my screenings in the normal range, they were very below any worry range, so it was more than perfect. I love them! They are so good at not only putting your fears to rest but also making you feel like you have the most special, perfect baby.

So all news is good, one of the last big hurdles is completed…

I am proud to announce that Jay has a new hockey team that he has started up, and last night, WE WON OUR FIRST GAME! Half of the folks on the team are from Asurion, but some are from my old job as well as a few new faces and old friends. We are so excited! Jay is captain, with 2 great assistant captains, that help him along the way. We even have a sponsor, The Players Inn, a bar in Bellevue, how is that for being a real team??? Endorsements are next!

Most people on the team are newbies, never having played ice hockey (and some ANY hockey) before. There are a few more experienced players helping with strategy and coaching, which is really making for a solid unit as a team. Our first game was a loss, but a well fought battle..4-2 against the Googly Moogly’s. Last night, we WON 6-3 against one of the best teams in the league, Premier Orthopedics. WOWSER!

Take a look at our team site. If you are ever in the area of Centennial Sportsplex during a game, come watch! We have a very good fan base developing already. And yes, the players do sign autographs afterwards!
