Our last night in India was spent dancing at the club “Scream.” Wow…I wish I had video. Our last bash with the company was very fitting…we met up with many of the people who had shown us the sights and some new faces as well. And like everything that happened before, the night was top notch.

Jay and Tanveer did this dance that, well, let’s say it redefines the White Man’s Overbite. It was a cross between the Shakira, the twist, and grabbing a cell phone. It was especially funny since I had just told the girls that there was no way Jay would get on the dance floor. We all danced and just let loose. The guys were insane! Interesting side note, in India, a man cannot dance on the dance floor alone (or it has to be a couple period). The American men I told this to, said India got it right!

The girls and I stole away for a few minutes and had some girl time to just chat. It was so nice and I really felt like I met not only quality people, but people I enjoyed spending time with.

It was getting late and we had a big day the next day. We begged off and headed upstairs, not before we showered with even more gifts though. I like being a visitor in this country!!!

Thank you everyone! We had a blast!!!

When we arrived back in Pune, our last week was pretty busy. Quite honestly, after having spent over a week in India, having a ton of work to do, and knowing everyone in the hotel on a first name basis, I felt like we lived there. It was pretty routine, not so much travelers, but inhabitants. We also got a taste for visiting with friends as well. Once work settled down for me a bit, I got to play the role of the happy business wife (can I tell you how much I love that role!). We went out for dinner with Jay’s whole India team. Dinner started around 10 pm. Wow, I am usually in bed by then, but when in Rome! It was a blast! The music stopped at some point, giving us a better chance to talk to everyone, which I enjoyed. They are a really great bunch of guys and I know Jay was very impressed with all of them.

We went out to dinner with the team lead for the India team and his wife another night. When they arrived, they showered us with flowers and gifts from India. I fell in love with this bronze wall portrait…wow. I was speechless to their generosity. We headed to a very neat restaurant called “Flags” which served food from around the world. We started with a salad from Zimbabwe and then had some Greek and Indian food. (Yes, like a good Greek girl, I ate Greek food in India!) Milind’s wife was an amazing person herself. We talked about everything from comparisons on how we met our husbands-where I learned all about arranged marriage versus love marriage, to us both being engineers (she is actually a practicing one though!), to daily life.

Monsoon season had definitely kicked in and it was pouring when we left. There is a downpour just about every night there this time of year. We made it into our car and headed back to the hotel.

Hey Kids, we’re home! It was a crazy plane ride from Paris to Atlanta, very bad storm, lots of turbulence. We even hit the jetstream aka wake of another plane. It was 15 miles away from us. 15 miles away, traveling at a speed of 500 mph. Isn’t that what you call a near mis???

It would have sucked to crash, too…I had just bought 2 bottles of wine and some lipstick in Paris.
